First, take a deep breath in… (pause) and breathe it out slowly… (pause). Feel your body begin to soften as you breathe out, letting go of any tension or worry. Feel how your shoulders and arms become relaxed.
Now, take another deep breath in… (pause) and slowly breathe out… (pause). Feel your body sinking deeper into the bed, feeling more and more relaxed. Your legs, your arms, your whole body feels light and peaceful.
Let’s take another deep breath in… (pause) and breathe out slowly… (pause). As you breathe out, feel all the worries of the day melt away. There’s nothing you need to do right now except rest.
Feel your toes relax, and then your feet, and your legs. Your body feels so heavy, but it’s a good kind of heavy, like you’re being gently held by the bed. Every part of your body is relaxing, one breath at a time.
