"The Fox and the Crow"

On a tall tree branch, a crow sat, proudly holding a delicious piece of meat in her beak. “Caw! Caw!” She had found the meat earlier and was excited to enjoy her meal.

But down below, a fox spotted her. His eyes gleamed with greed. “Oho! That looks tasty… but how can I get it?”

The fox thought for a moment, then put on his sweetest voice.

“Oh, my dear Miss Crow! How beautiful you look today!”

The crow tilted her head. “Caw? Me?”

“Yes, you! Your feathers shine like the night sky, and your beak is perfectly shaped! Truly, you are the queen of all birds!”

The crow puffed up her chest proudly.

Then the fox sighed dramatically. “But… if only I could hear your voice! Surely, a bird as lovely as you must have the most magnificent song!”

The crow, eager to prove her voice, lifted her head and sang loudly, “Caw! Cawww—”

And in that moment—Plop!—the piece of meat fell straight down!

Quick as lightning, the fox grabbed it and chuckled.

“My dear Crow, your voice is fine, but you should be wiser next time! Hehehe.”

The crow sat there, stunned. “Caw… Oh no!” She had been fooled.

Tonight’s lesson is this:

“Flattery can be deceiving. Don’t be fooled by sweet words and lose something valuable.”
